Semolina is the coarse, purified wheat middlings of durum wheat mainly used in making couscous, pasta, upma, and sweet puddings. The term semolina is also used to designate coarse middlings from other varieties of wheat, and sometimes other grains as well.
Poha (Flattened Rice) is nothing but rice that has been parboiled, rolled, flattened and then dried to produce flakes. The flakes come in different thicknesses depending on the pressure used in the flattening process. Rice flakes are small, very light, about 2mm long, flat and greyish white in colour.
